How to hide the IP. Web-proxy.

- IP address - is the unique address of the computer on the network. According to the IP address anyone can identify the country which the computer is located, the city, the provider of Internet services.
- If you are googling for “anonymity, hide IP, etc”, then there’s no need to explain why you need to hide the IP address. Many methods exist. Some of them are really simple to implement, some are not so, but more secure. The simpliest way is using online proxies, AKA web-proxy AKA online-anonymizer. Go to the page, enter the address of a site which you want to visit in the form and work. Now you do not leave traces in the log files at the visited sites, but the anonymizer does, hiding your real IP address. By clicking on the link on the page which you view through anonymizer, you will get to the next page again through anonymizer, so the process is automated, and typing the address again is not required.
Significant disadvantages of this method to hide the IP address:
- Not all of these services are free. Typically, there are paid and free versions. In a free version you view pages with inserted ad units. For example, the service http://anonymouse.org/ puts annoying ad space directly into the center of the page.
- The IP addresses of such servers are well known and often blacklisted by the sites which divide visitors by geography, or just collect detailed information about the visitors. These sites, of course, are not available through these services.
- You will not be able to choose the server, and hence the IP address from which you want to work. Moreover, anonymizer tend to the site. That is who you are, cannot be determined, only that you are anonimized. When you need to hide real IP and display that you are a resident of another country, web-proxy is not suitable. They are good only for anonymous surfing.
- Streaming applications (like online radio or TV stations) are not supported. So you can’t watch a Youtube movies:(
- Most of this kind of services do not support secure https connection. Personal data which is submitted to internet (such as logins, passwords, cc numbers etc) through web-proxy can be intercepted by it’s owner.
Some examples of web proxies:
- http://www.anonymization.net/ Anonymization-known and honored service. Blocks downloading of theĀ cookies and Javascript execution. It’s free, without advertising. You can set their browser toolbar for and implement an anonymous surfing without going to the site himself. Not working with the safe nodes using the SSL protocol. It tends to sites as Anonymization.Org
- http://google.25u.com/ (have some aliases) Free anonymizer without advertising. Support for SSL, HTTPS. Fast and easy. Also encrypt URLs you viziting. Very useful to serf through enterprize content filters.
- http://www.the-cloak.com/ nice, but occasionally blocking IP, arguing that the resources given to prepaid users. Tip for thought.
- https://proxify.com/ Supports SSL encryption protocol. In theory, gives the highest level of anonymity. But for the free use of too-intrusive advertising.
To be continued.
